Long before I planned for any children of my own, I knew that I wanted to be a child psychologist. My own early life experiences, desire to help others, and love of children set me on a career path from a young age. After graduating with honors from the University of Memphis in 1993 with a major in psychology, I began graduate school in Clinical Psychology at Auburn University.
My husband and I got married while we were in graduate school and a couple of years later had our first child, a boy! During that time I completed my doctoral training at Auburn and my internship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Psychology Training Consortium Sparks Clinics, both APA accredited.
When I graduated in 1999 with my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Auburn, I walked across the stage nine months pregnant with our second baby, this time a girl. We fell in love with the loveliest village on the plains during graduate school and have called Auburn home for over 25 years. Since my graduation, we added two more daughters to our family, and there is never a dull moment at our house with four children and a dog!
My goal as a psychologist has always been helping people find and utilize the tools they need to solve their problems, big or small. I strive to provide practical solutions from my shared experiences as both a parent and psychologist. Prior to opening Dunn Psychological Services, I served as the Director of the Auburn University Psychological Services Center and Director of the Psychological Assessment Center. At Dunn Psychological Services, I provide therapy services, parenting support, school advocacy, and assessments.
I look forward to meeting you and helping you reach your mental health goals.
